Agenda

Our Fall POTAC Steering Committee meeting is being organized by Rebecca Elder, and, in addition to our usual business agenda, we will be having a guest speaker and a very interesting program.

Our speaker Michelle Schweon will focus on the McFarlane Multifamily Group Model, which is a current evidence-based treatment endorsed by SAMHSA for the treatment of mental illness. Michelle, from Momentum Non-Profit (Santa Clara County), will discuss implementation of this model at her program. Fall POTAC Steering Committee Meeting Facilitator, Rebecca Elder will present on the basics of the model and some ways in which it is being implemented in some Northern California inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics. Michelle has been trained and supervised by the McFarlane Multifamily Group Trainer and Occupational Therapist.

RSVP

Please contact both Rebecca Elder at moc.liamgnull@8redleber and Eileen Auerbach at moc.loanull@aeinee if you have any questions or want to RSVP now. The meeting will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012, 1–3 PM at Cibo Restaurant in Palo Alto. The last two meetings we had at Cibo, everyone ordered lunch.

All POTAC members are welcome at this meeting and encouraged to attend!

To the steering committee:

Our summer meeting minutes will be distributed as soon as they are ready. I’ll send the first draft of the agenda closer to the date of the next meeting on Oct. 20th. —Eileen
