The POTAC Kim Aspelund Memorial Scholarship page has been updated with a new form for applicants for 2015.
Occupational therapy is now included in new federal regulation as a mental health service that must be available in participating community mental health centers providing Medicare partial hospitalization services. According to Heather Parsons, AOTA’s director of legislative advocacy, “It’s the first time in decades that the federal government has defined what quality community mental health should look like, and occupational therapy is included.”

This session provides an overview of the Occupational Therapy Training Program of San Francisco (OTTP-SF), a non-profit program that has served at-risk youth ages 5–21 in San Francisco since 1999. Four of OTTP’s unique programs will be highlighted to review specific assessments and occupation-based interventions that are used to promote health and well-being of at-risk youth who experience multiple barriers and traumas.
