POTAC now supports two separate scholarships in honor of influential Occupational Therapists that have made a major impact on our practice and our organization.

Chair of the POTAC Scholarship Committee is Ingrid Leu OTD, OTR/L. You can read more about these scholarships and download applications below. The deadline for applying to either scholarship is January 31st 2024.

Scholarship donation

Please consider donating to one of our scholarships:

-Kim Aspelund Memorial Scholarship Donation: The scholarship aims to foster mental health practice and provide support to occupational therapy students wishing to pursue a career in mental health practice.

-Anne MacRae Memorial Scholarship Donation: The scholarship aims to foster community mental health practice and provide support to occupational therapy practitioners wishing to pursue a career in community based mental health practice.

About the Aspelund Scholarship

Since the loss of our dear friend and active Steering Committee member, Kim Aspelund, POTAC has been accepting contributions to sponsor a scholarship in her name. Its purpose is to foster mental health practice and provide support to occupational therapy (OT) interns wishing to pursue a career in community and institution-based mental health practice.

The scholarship is for eligible students from California schools of occupational therapy who will be participating in Level II fieldwork in a mental health setting serving clients with psychiatric disabilities.

About the Macrae Scholarship

Its purpose is to foster community mental health practice and provide support to occupational therapy practitioners wishing to pursue a career in community based mental health practice.

The scholarship is for eligible Occupational Therapists providing services enhancing occupational engagement in community, in addition to Occupational Therapy Doctoral Residents who are completing their residencies/capstones at a community mental health site.
