Why Join?

POTAC membership is quite reasonable, $25 for the whole year ($10 for students). Because our mission is to try to reach every OT practicing in mental health, we try to prevent obstacles such as high dues from preventing our membership from hearing about jobs and signing on for educational opportunities.

Although most of our work is done by a volunteer Steering Committee, the membership dues pay the expenses of stationery, postage, the mailing expenses for the thrice yearly Newsletter, and our latest expense, our Website, designed and maintained by our webmaster, Jesse Burgheimer. Our mailings are done by a work crew at San Francisco’s rehabilitation hospital, Laguna Honda, and we also give them a gratuity.

We also provide gratuities for some of our speakers, and from time to time we will fly a speaker into the Bay Area from elsewhere and the dues and extra fees for trainings and forums will cover those expenses.

We find that our most valuable resources are the energy and generosity of our members and mentors who devote their valuable time to sharing information and insights with their colleagues.

We want to thank you for supporting our efforts, and invite you to please consider attending one of our open Steering Committee Meetings.
